Sudbury teen charged in fatal collision with North Bay woman

An 18-year-old Sudbury woman is charged with careless driving causing death after her vehicle collided with another vehicle killing the driver.

The victim in the December 16th crash was 53-year-old Carole Mantha of North Bay.

Mantha was the only person in her vehicle.

The fatal collision took place in Markstay-Warren on Highway 17.

The teen was charged under the Highway Traffic Act and a guilty verdict carries a penalty of a fine ranging from $2,000 to $50,000.

The penalty can also include a jail term of up to two years.

The woman’s driver’s license could also be suspended for up to five years.

She appears in Sudbury court February 11th.
