Yes Employment Services makes pitch for continued funding

The job agencies of Northern Ontario, including Yes Employment Services of North Bay, are making the case for their relevance.

The more than 30 offices spread across the north have launched a campaign that explains that by continuing to put money into the agencies, the provincial government will see more quality jobs created.

The campaign involves the heads of the agencies, including LeeAnne Maillé who is the CEO of Yes in North Bay, meeting with political representatives as they make a case for continued investments.

Last year the combined efforts of the employment agencies in Northern Ontario placed 11,865 people in new jobs.

The agencies also helped 2,441 people go back to school to retrain themselves.

During this time frame the agencies connected with 4,217 small and medium-sized businesses.

Maillé says Yes in North Bay hears from employers who tell it the agency is important to their business development.

The employment agencies are able to leverage money for job creation.

They help businesses access a skilled workforce which resulted in less training costs and fewer hirings.
