Nipissing employers looking for many workers in health field

Health dominated the Nipissing District as the top industry where employers were looking to fill vacancies during November.

The sector made up 18.1 percent of all job postings scattered across the district.

Specifically, most positions employers needed to fill were 12 registered nursing vacancies, 11 registered practical nurses and positions for 10 personal support workers.

Additionally, there were eight jobs available in the early childcare educator/childcare worker classification and employers were looking for four social worker/caseload employees.

Including health, the top three industries in Nipissing accounted for 42.1 percent of the job postings during November.

The other two were retail trade which made up 13.1 percent of the postings followed by manufacturing at 10.8 percent.

Rounding out the top five industries where shops needed workers was the accommodation and food services sector which made up 9.7 percent of the overall postings followed by public administration where vacancies made up nine percent of the available postings.
