Moose radiothon raises thousands of dollars for Food Bank

The annual Christmas Stocking Shelves Radiothon raised $5,110 in cash for the West Nipissing Food Bank.

When combined with the food items that came in, it takes the final total to $7,885.50.

One of the big contributors with food was Rick Watson with Liquid Warehouse.

Watson donated $2,000 in baby formula.

That’s in addition to 141 pounds of food the one-day event helped raise.

Food was also collected during Friday’s Parade of Lights.

The people who helped out in that department were students from White Woods who received food items from the crowd taking in the parade.

This was the 5th annual radiothon hosted by the Moose in West Nipissing as it continues to help the local food bank ensure its shelves are full and people don’t go hungry.
