Lavigne holds a special tradition Saturday evening.

The community holds its annual Christmas Carolling Hayride.

Organizer Joanne Koehler says the community holds the annual event with the goal of collecting for the West Nipissing Food Bank.

This year’s hayride is in memory of Claudette Leroy, the former president of the food bank who passed away earlier this year.

Leroy’s husband John will pull the hay wagon.

Koehler says the public can donate food to the Lavigne Tavern or at the door when the carollers come calling.
