North Bay Police are looking for at least one person after a man died following a shooting Wednesday night.

Police got a call about a firearm in the Pinewood area of the city and found a man in a home with gunshot wounds.

The man was rushed to hospital but died a short time later.

Police have not recovered the firearm and don’t know if they’re dealing with more than one person.

Police don’t have any descriptions of who they are looking for.

However, police say there is no concern for public safety because they believe the shooting was not random.

The name of the victim is being withheld until next of kin have been notified.

The North Bay Police Criminal Investigation branch and the department’s Forensic Identification Unit are on the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call 497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to a police officer.

The incident occurred shortly before 9:00p, Tuesday.
