It was the right place at the right time for West Nipissing Police patrolling the streets of Sturgeon Falls early Tuesday morning.
While driving on John Street police spotted a man who eventually led them to about $26,000 in drugs.
Police first saw the man walking early Tuesday morning and when they saw him a second time walking from behind a building they stopped to question him.
During the questioning, police learned about a backpack hidden a short distance away.
Police say they searched the man and backpack and found a large number of drugs and money.
Among the drugs were 16 grams of Purple H which is a mixture of heroin and fentanyl, 17 grams of Crystal Meth, 13 grams of cocaine, a third of a pound of marijuana and more than 1,700 methamphetamine pills.
The amount of cash in the man’s possession was $2,500.
A 42-year-old Sturgeon Falls man is charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.
