Floats still being accepted in Parade of Lights

The Parade of Lights is this Friday in Sturgeon Falls.

The coordinator of community services for West Nipissing, Lynn Duhaime, says so far 23 floats are entered for Friday’s parade.

Duhaime says it’s not too late to enter a float.

The major stipulation participants have to ensure is the float is equipped with lights since the event is a nighttime parade.

Duhaime says there’s no hard and fast deadline for float submissions.

She says if people want to submit a float at the last minute then all they need to do is show up in the parking lot of the Sturgeon Falls complex.

Otherwise, call the complex well in advance of the parade at 753-0160 and organizers will get a form out to you.

Participants need to be in the complex parking lot before the 6:30pm start of the parade so everyone can line up properly.

The parade route takes participants through John, Michaud, Ethel, King and Queen before heading back to the complex.

Coinciding with the Parade of Lights is a Moonlight Madness event.
