Air services study underway at Jack Garland Airport

Jack Garland Airport in North Bay is undertaking an air services study to see if air carriers should change some services that they provide to their users.

Airport manager Jack Santere says the study is a regular occurrence with the last one taking place in 2013.

Santere says it helps the airport better understand what changes, if any, have occurred over the past several years.

“Are there new requirements,” said Santerre.

“We as an airport corporation can ensure we have credible information to provide (the air carriers) to help them make their decisions,” Santerre said.

“We get a good pulse of what our region is looking for in services and what they would like to see.  So when we meet with the airlines we can provide them with that information.”

The surveys are being conducted by an independent consulting firm and target three groups.

Those groups are the travel industry, business and government agencies and the general public.

The consultants will gather the information and give the results to the airport around late January.

The surveys are available at the airport website at www.YYB.ca beginning today.

They take about eight to 10 minutes to complete.
