A young person in North Bay faces several weapons charges after a fake handgun was seen at a North Bay high school.
Police have seized the imitation handgun as well as a flick knife and have charged a young person with two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Police say an individual engaged in assault-type behaviour toward other young people at the school over the last few weeks and on at least one occasion the fake gun was seen.
School officials learned about the events and called in the local police who made an arrest.
The young person is also charged with single counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and uttering threats.
The person’s name can’t be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Police also don’t name the high school since under the Act that could help identify the accused.
