North Bay Film Festival starts today

The Capitol Centre may be a busy site this weekend.

Beginning today and continuing into Sunday the facility is the site of the North Bay Film Festival.

Not only does the festival feature several international films, but it also has films made by Canadore cinematography students and one of their professors.

Dave Clement’s multi-million dollar film Angelique’s Isle is based on a true story that involves a husband and wife in 1845 who are left for dead in the Lake Superior area and need to survive a harsh winter.

The categories include comedy, drama, documentary, mockumentary and experimental.

The students’ films kick off the film festival with the first block of screenings beginning at 1:00pm Friday.
