Health food is more expensive than ever in the North Bay-Parry Sound District. It has increased over 15-percent in the past five years, making it a challenge for low income families to lead a healthy lifestyle. A report from the Health Unit’s 2014 Price of Eat Well survey found that the cost for a family four to eat a basic healthy diet is over 194-dollars a week. The health unit is working with the rest of the city to develop a Food Charter in the area.
