Sudbury police officer won’t face any charges following SIU probe

The Special Investigations Unit says there are no reasonable grounds to charge a Sudbury police officer as a result of a man getting hurt while being arrested.

The SIU says during the arrest there was an interaction between the 36-year-old man and officer.

The SIU doesn’t describe the interaction but says the man was sent to the hospital where he was diagnosed with an injured shoulder.

The incident took place last year in September and the SIU ruled no charges are warranted.
