Big drug bust in West Nipissing

There’s been a major drug bust in West Nipissing involving a substantial amount of fentanyl and thousands of meth pills.

The OPP and West Nipissing Police raided two homes and seized $162,600 in prescription drugs.

Police also scooped up six long guns, a credit card making machine and hundreds of blank credit cards and blank smart cards.

The investigation went on for three months and has resulted in the arrest of three men from Field and one other from Quebec.

One of the Field men who is 21 and a 33-year-old Quebec man are both charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of credit card instruments.

The second man from Field who is 29 is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

A 54-year-old Field man is looking at charges of careless storage of firearm and ammunition and careless storage of a firearm.

The OPP’s Emergency Response Team, its Community Street Crime Unit and a canine unit were part of the raid along with the West Nipissing Police.
