Cambrian College didn’t have to search far for its new director of applied research.
The new director is Doctor Mike Commito, the department’s developer since 2016.
As a developer Commito secured funds so that the students and faculty could work with industry partners on various R and D projects.
In moving up the ladder, Commito says it’s his goal to grow Cambrian’s reputation as a leading applied research institution across Canada.
Commito is a former research coordinator with the Northern Policy Institute.
