No injuries in float plane crash near Cobalt

The Transportation Safety Board is looking into why a float plane crashed in the Cobalt area.

No one was hurt in the Saturday morning incident.

OPP investigators from Temagami say the crash took place shortly after the 70-year-old pilot, who is from Cobalt, took off with two passengers on board.

Minutes into the flight police say the plane encountered mechanical problems forcing the pilot to turn back.

The plane made an abrupt landing on the lake and was damaged.

A boater in the area towed the float plane to a nearby dock.

The Ministry of the Environment is also looking into the crash.
