North Bay man drowns while duck hunting

A weekend duck hunting trip hear Hagar has ended in tragedy for a North Bay man.

Twenty-three-year-old Jeremie Ouellet drowned when the canoe he was in with another man capsized dumping both men in the water.

The other man, a 23-year-old from Warren, was able to swim to shore.

However there was no sign of Ouellet and police divers recovered his body Sunday morning around 11.

Police say both men were not wearing life jackets when the canoe overturned.

The drowning took place in the Nepewassi River just south of Hagar around noon time Saturday.
