As a motorist, you don’t want to be speeding through a construction zone 13 kilometres south of Temagami.
After getting numerous complaints of people speeding through the work area on Highway 11 North or others ignoring the flag people to stop, the Temagami OPP are stepping up enforcement in the area.
If caught, the fines range from $85 to $400 in addition to getting hit with demerit points on your driver’s license.
Police say the work area is well signed as you approach it so there’s no reason for not slowing down as you drive through it.
