Dutrisac Road in West Nipissing is about to see a lower speed limit.
The stretch between Garden Village Road and Quesnel Road is being reduced to 60 kilometres an hour from the current 80 kilometres an hour.
The distance between both roads is 1.6 kilometres and Police Chief Ray St. Pierre says the lower speed limit will only add 24 seconds to a person’s commute.
St. Pierre recommended the speed reduction to council.

The affected area is the only part of the road that has an 80 kilometre an hour limit.
The remainder of Dutrisac has a maximum speed limit of 60 kilometres an hour.
St. Pierre says the 60 kilometre an hour limit will make driving on Dutrisac safer for everyone.
