Police agencies warn motorists of large animals crossing roadways

An incident involving a moose near Parry Sound that resulted in several people getting hurt is prompting a warning from the OPP.

Police are advising motorists to slow down especially at night since your distant viewing is cut down.

OPP also suggest watch for animal movement along highway shoulders because you never know when a large animal will run in front of you.

The suggestions come after a vehicle hit a moose on Highway 69 late Saturday night.

The impact killed the animal and as it lay dead on the highway three vehicles ran over it injuring two drivers and one passenger.

All the injuries were non-life threatening.
