It appears North Bay and Sturgeon Falls are not part of a five cent-a-litre price drop in gas today.
Gas in both communities has changed little since the weekend with North Bay in the $1.28 a litre range and Sturgeon Falls coming in around $1.24.
But many centres in Southern Ontario saw gas at the pumps drop by a nickel a litre on Wednesday.
Dan McTeague, a former MP and spokesman of the Gas Buddy website, says the drop is the result of the Ford government ending the cap and trade carbon tax.
McTeague says gas dropped in Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Barrie, Cambridge, Windsor, Chatham, Niagara, Kingston and most other places in Ontario.
Even Sudbury, where gas was in the $1.36 range on the weekend, is sporting a price range of $1.31 early afternoon Wednesday.
