There’s no start date yet, but a new school will finally be built on the W. J. Fricker property.
The Near North District School Board has approval from the Ministry of Education to move ahead with the new elementary school after applying to the government through the Capital Construction Approval Process.
The application from staff detailed how much space the school will need and the programming it will offer.
The Ministry approved both sections of the application.

With approval being granted, the board has started to prepare Request For Proposal documents.
Once the RFPs are out and responded to, the board can begin the process of hiring the architect who will design the new school and create the construction drawings.
