More than $15,000 seized in drugs after vehicle stopped in Sturgeon Falls

A Sturgeon Falls woman is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking after West Nipissing Police found drugs in the vehicle she was driving.

Police pulled the vehicle over on Cache Bay Road in Sturgeon Falls around 10:00pm September 6th.

When police told her she was being arrested for possession, the woman ran but she was quickly captured.

Inside the vehicle was a quantity of cocaine as well as hydromorphone pills and methamphetamine pills.

The drugs have a street value of about $15,500.

Police also seized some Canadian money and packaging material.

In addition to the possession charge, the 24-year-old woman is also looking at a charge of resisting arrest.
