Enrolment at Canadore College is up 10 percent as the post-secondary school begins another year of teaching students.
Shawn Chorney, who is vice-president of enrolment management, Indigenous and student services, says across Ontario Canadore is only one out of five colleges to lead in enrolment growth.
Chorney says the local accomplishment bucks the provincial trend in terms of what is happening at most other colleges
The rise in enrolment is across the board and that includes traditional, Indigenous, international and partnership categories.

Students from almost 400 Canadian communities and about 15 countries attend a Canadore campus.
Combined, those students inject about $13-million in direct spending in the North Bay economy each year.
