By-law could see linguistic changes

The linguistic profile of West Nipissing could change.

Mayor Joanne Savage says the language by-law was passed in 2002 and it may be time to review it to make it more encompassing.

Savage says the review could result in putting documents and services in French.

The Mayor has found that outside Quebec, some people don’t realize that Francophones and French exist in Ontario.

Council may review the By-law following a presentation from Denis Labelle on the linguistic profile of the municipality.
