Motel room bust nets thousands in drugs

Police say they have seized drugs with an estimated street value of $16,175.

The haul came as a result of an investigation by the North Bay Police Street Crime Unit.

The Street Crime entered into an investigation this month regarding the alleged sale of illicit drugs in the City of North Bay. After an investigation, police obtained a search warrant for a motel room that had been rented in North Bay.

The search warrant was executed last Friday and the four accused persons were located in the motel room.

As a result of the search police seized the following:

  • 120g of marihuana
  • 51g of cocaine
  • 2,610 methamphetamine pills
  • 132 ecstasy pills
  • 6 Percocet pills
  • 1 fentanyl pill

Police also seized a quantity of plastic bags and packaging materials, a digital scale, cutting agents and four cellular phones.

Four people have been arrested and charged with various offences.

A 40-year-old male from North Bay:

  • Six counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • One count of breach of probation

A 29-year-old female from Azilda:

  • Six counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Two Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation

A 26-year-old male from Callander:

  • Six counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Recognizance

A 26-year-old female from Commanda:

  • Six counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking

All four individuals were held for a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
