Sudbury husband and wife die in Verner area plane crash

West Nipissing Police Chief Ray St. Pierre says a husband and wife from Sudbury died in Sunday’s plane crash near Verner.
However their names are still being withheld until next of kin have been notified.
The floatplane went down in the Kipling area around 1:00pm Sunday.
People who called the West Nipissing Police and OPP reported dark smoke coming from the area.
When emergency responders arrived, the plane was burning but firefighters from the West Nipissing Fire Department put out the flames.
The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
