West Nipissing Lynx tap North Bay former hockey player and coach to lead team this season

A North Bay resident is the next person to coach the West Nipissing Lynx.

The Lynx have turned to Jeff Mancini to help the team during the upcoming season.

Mancini brings a wealth of experience to the club both on and off the ice.

Mancini has played junior hockey in Canada and the United States for a variety of teams and leagues and once his playing days were over he took up coaching.

His coaching skills have seen 10 players he’s coached over the years with different clubs get drafted by OHL teams.

Lynx President and GM Patrick Miron believes Mancini can take the West Nipissing players to the next level with his past experience.

Miron says the players will meet Mancini formally near the end of August.

Mancini says the future success of the Lynx depends on the players growing as individuals and as a team regardless if they’re playing a practise session or facing an opposing club during the regular season.

He says it’s his goal to build team cohesiveness.

Mancini is replacing Daniel Tremblay who led the Lynx as head coach the previous two years.
