West Nipissing council continues on a path to raise the illegal dumping fine to $500.
Staff are working on a draft to amend the current by-law to include the higher financial penalty.
The proposed changes may also include how the municipality deals with littering or dumping takes place on private land and not just municipally-owned property.
Council is expected to review a draft of the amended by-law at its July 10th meeting.
