French-language public school board passes balanced budget

The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario will enter the 2018-19 school year with a balanced budget.

Trustees passed a $51.4 million dollar budget, a document that board chairman Denis Labelle says was achieved through efficient management.

The board has 2,135 students spread across 14 schools in Northeastern Ontario.

Four of the schools are in North Bay, one in Sturgeon Falls and another in Temiskaming Shores.

The remainder are in Timmins, Iroquois Fallls, Kapuskasing and Hearst
