Person dies in tractor trailer – passenger vehicle collision west of North Bay

One person has died in a collision between a tractor trailer and passenger vehicle just west of North Bay on Highway 17.

OPP investigators say the victim is the driver of the smaller vehicle.

Both vehicles were approaching each other not far from the Eagle’s Nest gas bar when they collided.

OPP found the body of the driver in the burnt out vehicle but have not identified the victim.

As for the tractor trailer driver, he suffered minor injuries.

The passenger vehicle was westbound when it collided with the eastbound tractor trailer.

The victim’s body is being examined by the coroner.
