West Nipissing council has been making a list of what it wants addressed at this year’s Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference.

Issues suggested so far include roads, which was put forth by councillor Guilles Tessier and the Northern Ontario Travel Grant which councillor Denise Brisson wants pursued.

Council also wants a discussion on legislation governing temporary workers.

Mayor Joanne Savage says the legislation addresses staff shortages but the way matters are currently structured, it hurts places like the Au Chateau nursing home.

The deadline to submit the wish list is July 3rd.

The deadline gives Ontario government officials time to arrange for meetings with civil servants and cabinet ministers at AMO.

When the Mayors and councillors from across Ontario gather in Ottawa for AMO in mid-August, they will meet Doug Ford who will be Premier by then and his cabinet ministers.
