Timiskaming-Cochrane Tory candidate says Conservative government would scrap carbon tax

Margaret Williams, who is representing the Progressive Conservative party in Timiskaming-Cochrane, questions the usefulness of the carbon tax introduced by the Ontario Liberal government.

Williams claims the tax has made Ontario unaffordable and uncompetitive.

She says the tax will cost Ontario families about $285 a year.

Williams adds it also increases home heating by $6.70 a month.

Williams says contrary to Liberal claims, the tax won’t do anything to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Williams says one of the first things a Tory government would do if elected is to scrap the carbon tax.
