OPP and West Nipissing Police say they have busted a local cocaine distribution ring

The OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, in partnership with the West Nipissing Police Service, has concluded a three-month investigation into a group of individuals they suspect of distributing large quantities of cocaine in West Nipissing.

The investigation, named Project Renmark, culminated in three search warrants being executed.

The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $280,000.

Police say a substantial amount of suspected cocaine, several thousand suspected methamphetamine tablets, suspected marihuana, suspected psilocybin, suspected oxycodone tablets, suspected Demerol tablets, two cocaine presses and a large quantity of cash were seized as a result of the investigation. Also recovered was a stolen snowmobile.

As a result of the investigation, three people have been charged.

A 35-year old Sturgeon Falls man has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Traffic in a Scheduled 1 Substance
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.

A 61-year-old Field man has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Traffic in a Schedule 1 Substance
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking x3
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance x2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He has been remanded in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 41-year-old Saint-Colomban, Quebec man has been charged with:

  • Trafficking in a Scheduled 1 Substance
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He has been remanded in custody pending a bail hearing

Police say the investigation is continuing.
