The issue of OPP policing in West Nipissing has taken a twist.
Mayor Joanne Savage says the local police services board has served the municipality with papers involving the switch to the OPP.
The papers were formally handed to the municipal clerk on Tuesday.
Savage says the papers involve legal issues and the local board’s opposition to the disbandment.

She says the municipality’s CAO is now getting legal advice so that the municipality can move forward with disbanding the local force.
On another matter, the Mayor says legal requirements involving issues like site location have been resolved.
