The Francophone group CANO is closer to holding a bilingual festival in West Nipissing next year. Council is committing $30,000 for the event meaning the group can apply for more money from Heritage Canada. Before committing any money, the feds want to know that applicants have local support and council’s participation meets the criteria. If ultimately approved for federal funding, the festival is expected to be a major draw for West Nipissing next year.
