The North Bay chamber of commerce is confident that the federal government will support the Ring of Fire through infrastructure funding. In a call with FedNor, the agency told the chamber the feds have $4 billion set aside in the Building Canada Fund. It’s up to the province to apply for funding. But FedNor also told the chamber, the Liberals need to be more specific on the type of infrastructure the money would be used for before applying. Even though the province is silent on this point the chamber believes the federal government is on board.
