Timiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof says the Liberals are failing seniors when it comes to dental care.
Vanthof says Delima Dubie is a senior in Temiskaming Shores who needs dental work but can’t afford the $4,000 dental work to remove her infected teeth.
Vanthof says Ontario has many people like Dubie who don’t have dental coverage and adds the government isn’t helping them.
He says there are as many as 1.5 Ontarians in this group.
However Health Minister Helena Jaczek disputes Vanthof’s claim that the government is not help this group.
Jaczek says the government is expanding the OHIP + program which will make it easier for about 2.6 million seniors and their families to get better health care.
She says in addition, there are plans to build a large dental program for low income adults that gives them peace of mind and a better quality of life.
