Throne Speech doesn’t impress Regional Chief

Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day says the Throne Speech drops the ball on First Nation issues but adds there’s time to turn this around.  Day says the Speech from the Throne makes no reference on how Indigenous communities will share in resource revenues.  He says this not only involves mining and forestry but also cap and trade, marijuana and gasoline revenue.  Day says past Throne Speeches have talked about implementing the Resource Revenue Sharing plan but not this one.  He says with an election this June and the budget coming out next week, there’s time to correct this shortcoming.
