Seniors in Nipissing District waiting to move into long term care homes have some good news. The Ministry of Health is trying to assure they get the care they need closer to home by creating 12 new nursing beds. All the beds are earmarked for the Waters Edge Care Community facility in North Bay. The extra beds turns Waters Edge into a 160-bed facility. The announcement is part of the health ministry’s plan to add 5,000 new nursing beds in Ontario over the next four years and 30,000 over the next decade.
