Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited has been selected by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) as the service provider for its central gaming bundle. This gives Gateway the option of building a casino and entertainment facility in Collingwood or Wasaga Beach and includes existing OLG slots at Casino Rama and Georgian Downs. Gateway intends to purchase land across from the Regional Health Centre, off Highway 17 West. The property is the proponent’s preferred site and hopes to finish building the casino by 2020. The land once housed Nordfibre and is currently owned by North Bay’s Orsi family. Besides building in North Bay, development is also planned in Kenora. Nine existing properties are already under Gateway’s control with the north and southwest gaming bundles.
