Verner is the site this Sunday for a Fun Day of hockey for young people. The event is to recognize a $10,000 from the Caisse Populaire Alliance that helped buy rink boards and dividers. The dividers and boards help create a real hockey environment for young players. The Fun Day involves five area hockey associations including Verner, West Nipissing and Markstay-Warren. The other two are French River and St. Charles. Before the first puck is dropped on Sunday, there’s a 12:15pm ribbon cutting ceremony and the Caisse is among the dignitaries.
