Regional Chief reacts to federal budget

Ontario’s Regional Chief says the federal budget falls short where infrastructure is concerned for Indigenous people.  Isadore Day says about $173-million is earmarked to ensure clean drinking water on First Nation reserves.  But he says it’s far from enough.   Day say it’s the same story for Indigenous housing where the feds allocated $600-million over three years.   Day says First Nation communities in Ontario alone need $2 billion to improve their housing.   Day welcomed child welfare funding which works out to about $360,000 per community but cautions much more needs to be done.
