Sturgeon Falls secondary school near bottom of provincial rankings

Some impressive showings for North Bay secondary schools and some middling results for Sturgeon Falls schools.

The Fraser Institute, a conservative think tank, uses a formula to rank all English, French, public and Catholic high schools in Ontario.

For the 2016-17 school year, Franco-Cite is ranked 520th out of 747, Northern is 720th.

West Ferris ranks second among the 10 fastest-improving schools provincially when it comes to Grade 9 applied math.

In the overall school rankings, West Ferris and Chippewa Secondary School both placed in the top 200. West Ferris scored 7.2 out of 10 for an overall ranking of 175th, while Chippewa scored 7.1, placing 196th.

St. Joseph-Scollard Hall, Widdifield, and Algonquin placed 292nd, 355th, and 612th out of 747, respectively.
