When a community hosts the International Plowing Match, like West Nipissing is next year, it always puts together a cookbook of recipes. And West Nipissing is following in that tradition. The cookbooks are unique because they’re made up of local and area recipes using area grown food ingredients. Cookbook committee member Fernande Beaudry says the local group is looking for a variety of recipes and the committee is also looking for family recipes that have been handed down from one generation to the next. Beaudry is also asking contributors to include the story of how the recipe came to be. The deadline to get the recipes into the committee is February 25th.
