A woman in West Nipissing faces charges after removing money from an ATM in Sturgeon Falls. Police Inspector Ray St. Pierre says the woman increased the value of her account by depositing empty envelopes. With the value of the account artificially inflated, St. Pierre says the next step was easy; the woman started removing money from her account. Employees would have discovered the fraud after opening the envelopes and seeing they were empty. Police have charged the woman with fraud and theft under $5,000.
