Legion gets $700 from West Nipissing Police Services Board

The West Nipissing Police Services Board is helping the local Legion buy a new $10,000 stove.   Board chair Barry Bertrand officially gave Branch 225 a $700 cheque toward the stove.   The money is from regular police auctions.  Just before Christmas, the Legion asked West Nipissing council for help to buy the stove.  Mayor Joanne Savage said at the time the stove helps the branch hold events which raise money in West Nipissing.  The mayor added council would help the Legion access grants and other funding opportunities.
