With a return of the cold weather, pet organizations are reminding people to keep their dogs and cats away from the cold. They say it’s a good idea not to let your cat wander outside because the cold snap we’ve run into again could hurt them. When it comes to puppies and dogs with short coats, make sure they’re only outside for a few minutes so they don’t develop frostbite. Also when walking your dog, use a damp towel to remove the salt from their paws and underside because salt can burn them. You also don’t want them licking the salt off their paws because that could sicken them.
