Two cases of Romaine lettuce with E. coli found in North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit coverage area

Two of six Ontario cases involving romaine lettuce contaminated with E. coli have taken place in the North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit’s region.   However, the health unit doesn’t say where the affected people in its coverage area live.   There are 30 confirmed cases of the outbreak in five provinces.   The health unit’s Chief Medical Officer Doctor Jim Chirico says using proper food safety techniques is a good idea.   The Canadian Food Inspection Agency still hasn’t learned where the lettuce came from and to date there’s been no recall.
