West Nipissing council will review its procedural by-law where the code of conduct is involed. The review comes after Councillor Guilles Tessier claims Mayor Joanne Savage injected personal opinion on the OPP debate during a radio interview. Tessier claims the Mayor gave her version of the issue without mentioning any savings. He adds this was Savage’s personal opinion. Tessier adds the Mayor talked about the issue even though there was no resolution yet on the matter. However Savage disagrees with Tessier’s perception. She told him and council she recalled exactly what she talked about which included the presentations council had received, an analysis, long-term savings, and also that taxpayers are responsible for the cost with more discussion to come.
